have you ever wondered what happens to things you lose? like, a pencil, or a scarf? where, exactly did you lose it? who picks it up? do they keep it, or throw it away?

it's strange to think about where items have been before you come into posession of them, and whose hands they will touch in the future.

i think about things like this sometimes.

i love lily allen. here's why:

i don't want anything more
than to see your face when you open the door
you make me things on toast and a nice cup of tea
then we'll get a chinese and watch tv
tomorrow we'll take the dog for a walk
and in the afternoon maybe we'll talk
i'll be exhausted so i'll probably sleep
and we'll get a chinese and watch tv.

are you mine, are you mine?
'cause i stay here all the time
watching telly, drinking wine
who'd have known, who'd have known
when you flash up on my phone
i no longer feel alone
no longer feel alone

i haven't left you for days now
and i'm becoming amazed how
you're quite affectionate in publis
in fact your friend said it made her feel sick
and even though it's moving forward
there's just the right amount of awkward
and today you accidentally called me baby...

when i am procrastinating you can tell hardcore because i want to do random shit i never usually want to do, and i blog and twitter excessively. case in point.

umm i don't really remember what i was going to say but i just wrote 680 words logistically describing one three and a half minute scene from chinatown, and i have to write another 1300 in analysis of it (the ONE scene). hooray. it wouldn't be so bad, because i can go off on tangents like it's nobody's business, but he wants at least two citations from our readings. the problem lies in that i haven't done the reading because up until last week i had no idea how to decipher his homework assignments to figure out exactly what i was supposed to read, and also because i have ADD or some shit and can't focus on it for more than a couple minutes. FOCUS JENNI FOCUS! stop watching taylor swift music videos and playing staries! why was i cursed with such a curse???

speaking of excessive twittering, i wish i could have a second twitter account attatched to my phone that i could privately twitter all the random shit that comes into my head throughout the day. maybe i will just get one of those little notepads and doodle and write song lyrics and make lists and record the weird phrases and theories that pop into my head. like the second face theory, which i will maybe write about in greater detail when i don't have an essay, a script analysis and a ton of reading to do.

hello, 2 AM. we've become so well acquainted lately....

so shut the eff up.

i am SICK of everyone freaking out about the stinkin' swine flu. here's the e-mail i just got from my university about it:

Portland State University officials are actively monitoring the recent outbreak of swine influenza. This outbreak initially occurred in Mexico, but there are a number of cases now reported in the United States and Canada. Currently, there are no cases reported in Oregon and there is no immediate impact to Portland State. For more information please read the following information and visit Student Health and Counseling's website for updates.

point one) there are NO CASES REPORTED IN OREGON. chill for the mo'.

Swine flu is a highly contagious respiratory disease characterized by high fever, cough, sneezing, sore throat, aching joints, nasal congestion and general fatigue. Some people are reporting nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Individuals feel very ill.

point two) the reason everyone's freaking out is because the symptoms of the swine flu are same as symptoms of a cold or the regular flu, which people get ALL THE TIME and somehow manage to live through it.

If you have such symptoms, especially if you have recently traveled to Mexico or one of the states reporting cases, you should see your doctor, but otherwise, you should try not to go out to avoid exposing others to your illness. If you are a student, we would like to see you in the Student Health Service for diagnosis and treatment (503) 725-2800. Faculty and Staff should contact their primary care physician.

Swine flu, like other influenza, is spread from person to person by exposure to respiratory droplets (i.e. cough or sneeze) from infected people. Usually this occurs when uninfected persons are in the direct vicinity of an infected person who is sneezing and coughing. People can also become infected by touching something with the flu virus on it and then touching their nose, mouth, or eyes. To avoid getting or transmitting the swine flu, follow standard precautionary practices, which are:
-Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
-Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
-If you are ill, stay home away from others

basically, do the exact same things you should be doing anyway, especially in cold season.

There is reason to believe that several antiviral medications can be helpful in mitigating the severity of the swine flu. You need to see the doctor for a prescription. Again, if you think you have the flu, call the Student Health and Counseling Center at (503)725-2800.
For more information, see:

now, can i please move on with my life without hearing everyone turn into hypochondriacs?

i know i know i know i said this before, but reeaallly. you need to listen to the damnwells. i love it ever single time i listen to it, and the whole album is up for free download from their website. [here]

sorry for the excessive postiness lately..

but i just watched the new harry potter trailer. i am SO excited for it to come out!

that said, i can't help but feel like this trailer gives away too many clips of the most important scenes, and it'll be really hard for the rest of the film to live up to it. still excited, though. VERY happy that this trailer more prominently features draco.

mmm, draco.

ich habe eine Ohrwurm. es ist sehr schlect.

on thursday after my class i went to the train station and got on a train to tacoma. the planning for this included me commenting to kelsey that i should visit her soon, and she said, 'how about this weekend?' and i said, 'hooray!' and i booked the tickets and left two days later. we walked to the bus stop in the rain and rode the bus to a seven eleven then walked back to her house. it was vair-vair nice. ha :) yes, and then we watched flakes (i feel like we did something else, but i don't know what). kelsey had class on friday, so i went back to bed, then finally got up and got dressed and read most of oedipus for my class, then we went out to lunch with elliott and megan. let me tell you, that elliotts and eliots and megans and megans have me very confused because there are so many of them in kelsey's life/stories. it was a nice visit with kelsey. we went to see two lovers with joaquin phoenix and gwenyth paltrow, it was good but i don't like it when characters make bad decisions.. grr. then we went to a mcdonalds while we were waiting for the bus but it was closed and there were lots of flashy lights (police car, ambulance, fire truck), and then we tried to walk through the drive through to question the store hours with no success. then we went back to the bus stop and someone tried to sell us weed and another person called us 'america's next top models'.

uhhhhhh what else did we do? don't know. went to hello cupcake and a Jamaican food restaurant and then we rented sisterhood of the travelling pants 2 and into the wild from blockbuster. which reminds me that i want to watch that 'wish upon a star' movie REALLY BAD.

took the train back home on sunday, and bree was supposed to pick me up from the train station, but when she got to her car she found that someone had busted out one of the windows (second break in, though in the first nothing was broken, but lots of shit was stolen), so she was really upset and couldn't come. it isn't very far to the bus stop, but my bag is awkward and heavy to carry so i looked like a weirdo clutching her duffel to her chest and walking through chinatown, ha. luckily, the bus came right away, so that was easy.

back to class today and i haaaaate it. i don't want to read. tomorrow is my killer day with 8 hours of class and only a 2 hour break in the middle... ugh. i don't think i will ever take five classes a term ever again.

off to read.. or to not read and to procrastinate instead...

PS: OH! It's Sunny! My mood is a direct reflection of the weather!!!!
